JENNIFER WITKOWSKI NAMED
NEW
MISS MACOMB 2009
With
the crowning of Erin O’Connor as the new Miss Illinois 2009, Jennifer Witkowski, named 1st
runner-up to Miss Macomb last March, has been named the new Miss
Macomb 2009 and will assume all the duties of the crown.
Jennifer
is the 21 year old daughter of Vern Witkowski and Barb Acosta of
Hoffman Estates, Illinois and is a Senior at Western Illinois
University majoring in Social Work. She is an active member of the Alpha Sigma Tau
Sorority at WIU.
Ms
Witkowski’s Platform is “Bullying Awareness and Prevention” and
during her year of service as Miss Macomb, will be speaking to school
children and organizations in the Macomb area about this social
issue. Her talent for
the Miss Macomb Pageant was singing and she will also be performing
for various groups.
Although
she is currently taking
over as Miss Macomb 2009, her official coronation will take place
during the Homecoming Celebration of Erin O’Connor, Miss Macomb 2009
and Miss Illinois 2009 at a date to be announced later.
Thursday, June 25, she will be judging the
2009 Heritage Days Little Miss and Master Pageant and on Saturday, June 27, she
will be riding in the Heritage Days Parade along with Miss Macomb
Princess 2009, Sadee Anselment.
Jennifer
will also be performing for the opening at the City of Macomb’s 4th
of July celebration at 6:00 p.m., Hanson Field, WIU, where she will
be appear, along with various other contestants of the Miss Macomb
Pageant.
